The Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI) is a think tank that was established in 2001. ASPI was formed by the Australian Government, and continues to receive most of its funding from this source. However, the institute is independent and has the role of developing ideas on Australia's defence and strategic policy options and helping to inform the public on defence and strategic policy issues. ASPI's offices are located in Barton, Australian Capital Territory. In February 2012, the Minister for Defence Stephen Smith announced the appointment of Peter Jennings, a former Deputy Secretary in the Department of Defence, as ASPI's new Executive Director for a term of five years. He replaces Major General (Retd) Peter Abigail, who held the position from early 2005. The inaugural Director was Hugh White, now Professor of Strategic Studies at the Australian National University.〔Department of Defence, 'Hugh White appointed Director Australian Strategic Policy Institute', Media Release, 11 October 2001, ()〕 ==See also== * Australian Defence Force * Australian Minister for Defence media release (Launch of the Australian Strategic Policy Institute ) * (ASPI Website ) * * (ASPI Publications List ) 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Australian Strategic Policy Institute」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
